Frequently Asked Questions
How DeckRoyale's statistics work
Our data
Where does your data come from?
From public battle logs, read through the official Clash Royale API. Every statistic on the site comes from battles that were really played.
How do you count battles?
A battle has two decks, so we record both sides and remove duplicates. A deck that wins and a deck that loses each get their game counted.
How often are the stats updated?
Several times a day. Deck and card lists refresh after each update, and you can pick the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days on the main lists. A deck page always shows the last 7 days.
How can you have more games than RoyaleAPI?
We collect battle logs from a very wide range of players, and we count both sides of every battle. When we compare the same decks in the same game modes, we record several times more Ranked games and more than ten times as many Ladder games than RoyaleAPI. You can check by opening the same deck on both sites.
Are you affiliated with Supercell?
No. DeckRoyale is an independent fan site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or specifically approved by Supercell.
Win rates
Why do some popular decks have a low win rate?
A popular deck is played by everyone who copied it, including players still learning it. It also meets opponents who know how to beat it, and many mirror matches, which pull its win rate toward 50%. A low win rate on Ladder often says more about who plays a deck than about the deck itself. To judge a deck, look at its Ranked win rate.
What is the difference between Ladder and Ranked?
Ladder shows what the most players use, so it is good for popularity. Ranked win rates are a better signal of how strong a deck really is.
What is the Meta-Meter?
The Meta-Meter shows how far a deck stands from an even 50%, after weighing its win rate by how much it has been played. A deck with few games is pulled toward 50% until its record backs it up. A value of +3.0 means a weighted win rate of 53%.
What do Low Sample and Small Sample mean?
Low Sample means fewer than 300 games: the win rate can still move a lot. Small Sample means fewer than 1,000 games: treat the win rate as a rough guide, not a verdict.
What does Auto mean in Min Games?
Auto picks the highest minimum number of games that still leaves enough reliably winning decks to fill the page. It starts at 10,000 and goes lower for smaller modes and narrow filters.
Why is the 2v2 win rate different?
A 2v2 win rate is the team's, so it also depends on the partner's deck. Read it as how well a deck does with its partners, not on its own.
Decks and events
Why does my deck have no stats?
A deck needs at least 100 games across 1v1 modes in the period before it is processed. A new or unusual deck may not have reached that yet.
Why do some cards or decks disappear in an event?
Lists show only what was really played. If an event does not use Evolutions or Heroes, those cards have no games, so they are left out of its stats.
Why can't I find a player by name?
Name search only covers players already in our data. If an account is missing, enter its full player tag. The tag is under your name in the game, on the main screen.
Accounts and privacy
Do I need an account?
No. You can browse the statistics without one. An account lets you save decks, publish them and write guides.
What do you do with my data?
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain what we collect and why. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics stays off until you allow it, and you can change your choice at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page.
